Don’t dig too deep
You’ll get worms in your hair
Like Medusa and her killing stare
And her hair made of snakes.
Everyone takes
From the cookie jar
Watch where you stay
Don’t go too far
Or stay too close
That’s the trouble with most
They stay home.
Home ain’t a place, it’s a feeling
It don’t matter where you’re sleeping
In a bed or under a bridge
If you sleep you dream
To dream is to make everything seem
Like it’s in your favor
Or maybe not
Have a nightmare or smoke some pot
Make sure your mind don’t rot
Keep a kind thought
For every man, woman, child you know
And don’t mind the soft falling snow.
That snow is just the world giving you a fresh start
You’ll feel it in your mind, soul, or heart
It’ll hit out of the blue like a dart
You feel brand new with all that white powder
Too bad there ain’t a single spring flower
Far as those eyes can see
There ain’t one flower for you or me.
